Hope everyone had a fabby Christmas!! We had a wicked day but it just didn't feel like Christmas. I ended up not going to the 'Orphan' party, instead we......
Started the morning with a few Christmas dances in our apartment. We had to cheer each other up as Santa didn't come. Don't think he knew the way or maybe I just hadn't been good! Then we headed to the beach. It was mobbed, there were people everywhere and we couldn't believe how busy the shops, restaurants and streets were. We got our photos taken with the lifeguards. They had santa hats on and their little beach buggy was all decorated for Christmas. We then jumped on a bus to meet some mates in a park at 'Paradise Point'. One of the guys we met was from Glenrothes - how bizzare! He went to the same school as you Sharren so I asked if he knew you. He said he recognised the name but didn't know you. He was only 24 though! Again we could not believe how busy the park was. There were families and groups of friends everywhere having picnics and BBQ's and playing cricket, frisby, volleyball - it was amazing to see. Nobody was at home! The boys got the BBQ started as the girls got the table ready with Christmas plates, crackers, party poppers and drinks. The table beside us was filled with guys from New Zealand and they had a stereo with them and played good tunes all day and night. Random people kept coming over to us and giving us tasters of what they cooked on the BBQ, it was really nice. Once we had finished the BBQ we moved onto playing some drinking games. What a laugh!! Girls you better be prepared for me coming home as I have a few leathal games to teach you all - we will play them one night at my flat when I'm home! The park was such a good idea, we met lots of people and everyone was in such a friendly and happy mood. We ran out of drink around 7pm so decided to head back to my apartment for a party. As soon as we got back I got the neighbours through to join the party too. We played lots of games including 'musical chairs', 'musical bumps' and just had such an amazing time. We all had far too much alcohol though but hey thats what Christmas is all about! It was great for me as I didn't have a minute to think about my family or to be homesick. I had promised to phone everyone but just didn't seem to get the time - too busy partying. Sorry guys, you know I love you all though!
I wish I had a video camera so that I could've filmed the whole day for you all to see. Have taken lots of photos but they don't capture all of the action. As you can probably tell from the photos, we were all a little rough the next day! Somehow we managed to go to our neighbours party on boxing day and start it all again!!!
