Happiness Is The Road
We awoke today to beautiful weather. The sky was blue and scattered with little white fluffy clouds. There was not a rain cloud in sight. After brekky we went to the Yallingup Woodfired Bread shop to see where our favourite organic bread was made. It was a rustic looking place. The actual shop was just a table on the verandah round the back of the bakery with an honesty box on it. Whilst we were deciding how many loaves to purchase a friendly guy came out and talked to us. He told us a little bit about their bread and then we then toddled off loaded with our yummy stuff. Whilst driving back to the main road Jay suddenly yelled excitedly. She had seen a mob of kangaroos in a field at the side of the road. We turned round and drove back to get a better look. Apart from on Kangaroo Island I have never seen more kangaroos in one place. Most of them were lying down and relaxing with some boinging about. It was absolutely wonderful to see so many of them especially as they may be the last kangaroos we see on this trip. After this delightful sight we headed over to Cape Naturaliste. I came here last year and was completely wowed by it's beauty. I wasn't disappointed today. In fact it was much more beautiful today. The weather was still sunny and we set off on the walking trails which took us near the lighthouse and through the most gorgeous landscape to stunning views of the Indian Ocean. There were the prettiest and most gorgeous wildflowers everywhere. The landscape was a lush green dotted with an abundance of vibrant colours. At the whale watching lookout we surveyed the ocean with the hope of spotting one but unfortunately to no avail. Once back at the camper van we had some lunch and then headed down the road to Bunker Bay. It's a cute and pretty place littered with rocks and with trees growing right beside the breaking waves. We scrambled the rocks and dodged the ocean spray before walking along the beach. The sand wasn't as fine here as most other Australian beaches and was full of the most amazingly tiny little shells. After this we drove to Meelup Beach a bit further down the road and walked the beach here before heading further along to Castle Rock where the rocks were a beautiful orange colour. It was nearly tea time by now so we went back to the caravan park to chill out till bedtime.
