Happiness Is The Road
When I woke up and looked outside I realised that the weather wasn’t as good today. It was a bit overcast but perfect for another walk. That was the plan in any case. Did the usual things first, getting into a bit of a morning routine now to get everything done, washed last nights dishes, went for a shower, made breakfast which is either weetbix, muesli, blueberries or porridge followed by toast and a boiled egg. Yum yum yum. Then I have to unhook the electric cord and put everything away in the camper so it doesn’t all move and fall about while driving. Before I left I had chat with one of the guys who’d arrived next to me late last night in a huge camper. He was from Chilli and I think he said he was called Rodriguez. He and his two mates were on a surfing trip and had really enjoyed Yallingup’s big surf yesterday. I decided to go just a short distance away to a place called Canal Rocks. I didn’t know what to expect here atall and I was in for a lovely surprise. This place is just awesome and majestically beautiful as you can see from the photos. The sea flows thgrough a natural canal between the rocks. There is a boardwalk viewpoint to go along but I ignored this at first and decided instead to walk and climb up and over the rocks. I kept climbing until I got a great vantage point. It was an immensely magical place and for a long while I was the only person there. I sat there and just looked on in wonder at the incredible scenery and watched and listened as the waves crashed and rolled over the rocks. I felt very warmed and at peace sat there it was quite a spiiritual place and I got thinking about how lucky I am and how wonderful and good for me this travelling experience is. I am growing as a person. I am becoming lots more confident and am really starting to discover who I am and what I am capable of. I am definitely becoming more spiritual and I just love nature and it’s awesome power and beauty. I am such a lucky man as I have the best parents and family I could wish or. I have in Jay someone who truly understands me and loves me exactly as I am completely unconditionally. I am now free to do as my heart desires, free from the constraints of what is deemed to be “normal” and acceptable and the all consuming energy draining rat race. I’m finally free and a very very lucky man. After quite a long time sitting on the rocks some other people appeared and I got talking to them. They were from just north of Sydney. They were as in awe as myself of the place and they said ‘when does the show end’. Well it never does, nature and her beauty will always carry on, as does everybody. We all live forever. After they’d gone I wandered back to the camper and made myself some lunch. As is usual now I sat on my comfy chair by the camper and had a relaxed lunch. I really didn’t want to leave this place so after lunch I took my ipod and headphones back to the rocks and listened to some music. This place with the rocks and the crashing waves is kind of how I expect the Giant’s Causeway in Ireland to be. That is somewhere where I’ve always wanted to go but never got the chance. I’ve also always wanted to listed to Clannad’s music on the Giant's Causeway as there music is very atmospheric and I think well suited to that type of scenery. I thought their music would fit perfectly here also so I started with a bit of Clannad. This is the playlist of music that I listened to:-
The Wild Cry - Clannad
In A Lifetime - Clannad & Bono
Blackstairs - Clannad
Sounds That Can't Be Made - Marillion
Lucky Man - Marillion
Us - Riverside
Trains - Porcupine Tree
Dry Land - Marillion
Plans - Birds Of Tokyo
Everything - Lifehouse
Bloodstream - Stateless
Passengers - Mostly Autumn
There’s some great music here. Give this playlist a listen. You won’t be disappointed! Eventually I Dragged myself away from Canal Rocks. I had only meant to come here for a quick look but ended up staying nearly 5 hours! I drove back to the camp site and then after a walk along the beach and in the sea I had a lovely tea of bacon egg and beans washed down with a few beers. This is the life! Nite nite.
