Today is my final day on the island and the good thing is my flight is not until 11pm so I have the whole day here. I tried to have a bit of a sleep-in but struggled so at around 8am I got up and tried to figure out what I would do with my last day. Peter had an early morning tour and then had to drop 4 of his guests off at the airport at 12pm and none of the rooms had been cleaned - so I decided to go clear and clean the rooms. Tiare did the beds and I did the dishes and restocking; we had also planned to cook today but had to wait for Peter to do the shopping after dropping guests off. Peter arrived back at nearly 2pm and we took to making lunch; Tiare made some absolutely delicious Peanut Butter chicken (after telling her about my love for peanut butter) and a vegetable ratatouille and I made a garden salad. It was a very late lunch but it was really nice savoring the time with Peter and Tiare at our last lunch - they have been so good to me and really have become my family for the last two weeks. After lunch I went for one last walk down to the coast and to see the Moai and the wild horses grazing on the rugged hilltops. Easter Island is a special place and I hope that I can return one day. After packing the last of my things, showering and having a bite to eat we had a few hours to chat and watch another movie - the perfect ending to my Island experience. Goodbyes are always hard but this was a pleasant one as I felt like it was a see you later not a final goodbye. Tiare gave me a goodbye hug and then gave me a Christmas present: an unexpected surprise that I plan to open on Christmas Day. Peter then drove me to the airport, thanked me for my help, brought me a souvenir t-shirt and Moai key-ring and then we said our goodbyes. I have a lot of respect for Peter and Tiare and how they live their life, run their business and bring their daughter up. I really learned a lot from the both of them and feel blessed that they allowed me to share in their life's briefly. When I arrived they were already boarding the plane and in the end we actually took off early - having all the passengers boarded. They served up dinner at midnight and even though I had already eaten earlier I decided to indulge in the chicken and a glass of red wine. After watching a bit of a movie I then closed my eyes in the hope to get a few hours of sleep.
