Jennifer's Trip
Well, I have finnally got to a comuter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have experienced so far three power cuts and two bucket showers, soooooooooooooo much fun. I arrived in Kumasi on Monday, and there was no power. It eventually came back yesterday afternoon! The place I am staying is nice, and everyone is really helpful. II am getting all my washing and cooking done for me, and am geting nagged constantly about mosquito repllent.
The school is one of only 2 Christian schools in Ghana. It is very religious, which will take some getting used to.The first thing people ask you here is what your name is, quickly followed with do you have a husband? A boyfriend? and if not why not?
I have a few names, Jinny, Aunti Jennifer, JENNIFA, Sister Jenifer and Obruni (white person).
Aplogies for the typing, I am doing it quickly, as I don't think broadband exists here.
When we arrived on Sunday, there was a power cut at the airport, so at immigration passports were checked by mobile phone light!!! Befroe ;anding, there had been another power cut, and the pilot sensibly decided not to land with no lights on the runway. Then as soon as we got to land, they went off again.
The food is okay, I am getting used to it, and everything is very very cheap. I bought about five litres of water yeterday for about 50p!
There are wierd multicoloured lizards here, everywhere! I am sharing my room with a couple of small white ones (Catriona, like the one that was in our room in Gran Canaria).
Right, well I am going to try to type some emails, that's if the computer will let me!
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
