This morning we packed up camp and headed off to do the 2km Mini Palms walk through the red sandy cliffs. Walking along a dry, rocky river bank we encountered lots of palm trees and large boulders that we had to weave over and around until we reached an enormous rock cavern.
Afterwards we visited Echidna Chasm which is a very narrow walk between the high cliffs. The walk follows a narrow rocky riverbed which most likely floods in the wet season. A very spectacular walk and very fun!
We had a picnic lunch in the carpark speaking with another couple (who hitch hiked in and spent the night in the Bungle Bungles without food or shelter).
The return drive out of Purnululu was very draining and we decided to finish our beers and help Cathy polish of a bottle of red wine.
Tonights dinner is campfire baked Potatoe with baked bean, corn and Parmesan topping.
Highlight today: enjoyed our time hanging at the campfire drinking a bottle of red wine!
