Woke up bright and early this morning to discover that the car key would not electronically unlock our car. This normally would not be an issue except that the car appeared to have no manual lock either, but after lots of searching we found it!
After a quick check we established that the battery was cactus and only had 3% charge left. A jump start later and we were cruising down the highway to Halls Creek in search of a new battery (before ours exploded).
We arrived in a dusty little town of Halls Creek, got our battery sorted and topped up on supplies (Kangaroo Tails still with fur, $7.99 at the local IGA). The town has a very bad reputation and the local liquor store is only permitted to sell Carlton Light.
Tonights camp is at Springs Creek near the turn off to the Bungle Bungles. We are camping with a German girl Cathy who we met a couple of days ago and offered to take her into the Bungle Bungles (it's a 4wd track only).
Highlight today: finding a whole Kangaroo Tail still with fur, in the freezer section at the Halls Creek IGA!
