Up at 7.30am and off to travel the Gibb River Road. When we hit the track we dropped the tyres down to 30psi and slowly made our way to Emma Gorge.
We hiked about an hour before arriving at a gorgeous 200mtr waterfall surrounded by red cliff face, well worth the hike.
Travelled another 30kms to El Questro Station where we are camping along the Pentecost river.
After setting up our camp we went exploring to the El Questro Gorge and along the way travelled through four river crossings (one that almost went over the bonnet) jagged rocks and lots of red sandy patches.
We hiked to the halfway point (pictured) and had a swim in the crystal waters (I'm sure the fish were stalking us) and lazed around.
The walk was spectacular! Hiking through palm fronds, ferns, jagged red mountainous rocks, high cliff faces and alongside sparkling clear streams!
We adventured onto an much harder 4wd track where we tackled a few cliffs, more water crossings and some great views (the 4wd confidence level is growing!).
Highlight today: very deep water crossing and El Questro Gorge swimming!
