OMG where do I start?
Yesterday was such a fun day.
We had a colobus monkey on the property which never happens because they live on the other side of the road. The monkey was insane, he kept chasing our owls and all the other monkeys were a bit irritated by his presence. It will be interesting to see if he is still here today or if he managed to go back home.
After work, we were invited to Maruzas bbq. SO much food, alcohol and soo many nice people.
Jade and I tried Konyagi for the first time haha. Its funny because the first time we went out for dinner with David and Kimberly, they warned us about this Konyagi drink. It taste like alcoholbut apparently you never know how you will feel the next day. One bottle in the store is 5000 TSh which is about 3.5 dollars so you can imagine what s***ty alcohol it must be.
Anyways, all the guys told us we had to drink it so we said fiiiiine and then they mixed a drink with konyagi and pineapple juice. I didn't think it was that bad, I could hardly taste the alcohol so obviously they poured me more.
Then, Jade and I was sitting with David and Kyle and they were having shots so I thought, why not. One shot isn't going to hurt. So we had one shot each. Then another guy comes in and David goes " hey you, can you imagine Hanna has never had a Konyagi shot" Im like what excuse me I just had one! And Kyle goes, no you didn't I have been here the whole time. So I had another one. Then Kimberly came and said I had to have one with her. And then Maya comes and says I have to have one with her. So yeah, there were a lot of shots. BUT the best part is. I am not hungover at all!! ( touch wood).
I ate a lot of food during the night and when most people had gone, ( I decided to stay when Kimberly, David and Jade left) Maruza made us shrimps! So delicious. Then around 2:30 I was super tired so a guy who doesn't drink…I cant remember his name now, he drove me home.
Yaay my first night out in Tanzania…kind of.
Funny thing with the Kenyagi bottle, the label has a man standing with his arms but in the air and whenever the bottle is full, you always have to keep it lying down because otherwise the man gets tired in his arms! When the bottle is empty, you can have it standing up again because its not as heavy for the man. People take it super serious! Haha.
Last night I was taking a picture of Kyles dogs when I felt something bite me. I went inside and I swear I had 30 ants stuck to my dress. Its these really big ants and they bite you and they hold on to your clothes so you cant shake them off. I had to have people search my dress for like 10 minutes. So disgusting. I hate those ants.
Jade had them on the inside of her pants once and she had to completely undress because you can't find it without turning your pants inside out. She stripped in our garden. I thought it was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing. Poor Jade.
Ok, time for me to go!
