Je suis malade! Yesterday I woke up with a headache and even after taking aspirin it wouldn't go away. Then my throat started hurting and I was so scared of getting sick because Kimberly has a really nasty cold. Thank god I have my own house doctor Jade!. She has a whole suitcase full of medicine ( both her parents are doctors). After work she pulled me into the bathroom, said take this with water. Now open your mouth ( she sprayed something that tasted really nasty) and then she told me IF that doesn't help take this or this or this….and the list goes on. I felt better afterwards and I don't have a soar throat today wohoo! I will take a picture of her medicine bag haha its pretty high core.
So our housekeeper Happy has decided to wash things that are not in the right place and she washes my pajama every day. Its really cute but so unnecessary. I guess she is bored; there isn't much to do with just the two of us in the house.
I do go to bed every night in a newly made bed with fresh sheets though, it feels amazing. Its hard because Jade and I are like, go home, you can have a day off…but Kimberly said she thought that Happy probably thought that we didn't think she did a good job or that if she takes a day off, she wont get paid. So we have stopped trying to tell her that. We try to buy some extra food and put it next to the bin, which means that she can have it..she is extremely skinny and even after we told her like 10 times to go and eat in the staff area, she is always in the house during that time when the lunch is served for staff. Oh well.
So, yesterday I went with Kimberly to this tourism organization cocktail. It was really interesting. They talked about e-commerce: it's the new thing here. Its really hard for hotels to get a corporate credit card, which means that they cant buy services online such as facebook ads or google ads. This bank was saying that they have now started giving corporate cards to hotels and allow hotels to pay everything online! You can pay all your bills online and you don't have to go to special offices to pay international bills!!
It's interesting to see how this was presented to people, when we have had it in the west for soo long.
When we arrived to the event, a guy came and asked us what we wanted to drink and we said white wine. After a while he came back with a whole bottle of wine and 2 glasses and just gave it to us- he didn't open the bottle or anything. He just gave it to us and said "here" haha. Kimberly said that it was probably because Rivertrees are thinking of changing banks and the guy that asked us works for the bank. It was just funny the way he served us.
After the speech, there was a buffet with samosas, kebab, chicken, mini-pizzas and fish. Afterwards they served fruit sticks!!! I had 4 sticks, it was just so delicious I couldn't help myself. They had mango, pineapple, melon and papaya on the stick. What more can you ask for?!
Kimberly and I tried to mingle and we spoke with some interesting people. There was one guy who was a wine producer and he had brought his wine so we could try. He produces his wine here in USA river and he doesn't use grapes. He uses other fruit so his wines were: raspberry (I liked this one), plum (not so nice), mango, pineapple and some other fruit that I can't remember the name of. Very interesting. Oh, and the guy was originally from Minnesota-how funny.
Today I start at 14:00 and of course it is raining outside. I guess I'll just sit inside, read a book and let Happy get annoyed with me.
Bye bye!

Lars After reading what you drank last night I´m not sure that the headache comes from a cold ;-)
