Hellooo Im back
Our landlord told us last week that he would be putting wifi in our house soon but in Tanzania "soon" can be 2 months so I was extremely shocked and excited when I opened my computer and it said 1 connection available. Soo peeps, I will try and upload more pictures and more blog entries now, I really have no excuse.
So not much has happened since last time I wrote, I've been very busy working (every day, no day off yet Agneta) but it's ok, I really don't mind because every day is an adventure. Today and yesterday we had no water in some rooms so David put more pressure on which made the pipes explode. Mix this with no electricity or electricity going on and off and you have my schedule for 2 days: running around making sure guests are not freaking out. Welcome to Tanzania;)
So today I tried explaining to one couple who had just climbed Kilimanjaro for 7 days that, yeah we don't have any hot water. Oh, you want to take a shower because you haven't had one in 7 days…think again! Everything was sorted out in the end; we had to move them to another room, force the generator to work so that we would get hot water for the guest, and then turn the generator off to cool down for a few hours. Although all of these experiences are nerve wrecking, I find myself figuring out solutions to problems I didn't even know existed before which is pretty cool. Yaay for me;)
Now, to something extremely cool but extremely disgusting.
David told us that there is a python snake living in our garden,(it's not poisonous mother, calm down) but Jade still freaked out. To be fair, I don't walk on the grass when it's dark anymore either haha.
Anywas, I was in town yesterday and while I was trying to fix my computer (I forgot to write that, I spilled water on my computer..correction, my father's computer) I received a text from Jade going " There is a snake in our garden and its eating a squirrel". When I got to the lodge, she showed me a picture, I uploaded the picture here. It's insane. Joseph later showed me a picture on his phone where the whole squirrel is inside the snake. It looked like a cartoon when they have a water hose and something gets stuck inside the hose and it just gets bigger and bigger until it explodes. I looked for the snake when I came home but I didn't see it. It's probably in a food coma somewhere in the garden right about now. I am super proud; I am getting less and less scared of bugs. I can easily move spiders now, I can't kill them but I can at least move them.
Oh, the picture on the cover of this blog is when we had a guided tour of the birds and the trees at Rivertrees. Very interesting but most of it was in Swahili and it was outside of my " hello, how are you" knowledge. I look extremely misplaced in this picture I know haha.
Ok, I still have some work to do so I better get going. Ill write soon again I promise. xoxo
