After packing up camp at Archer River on Tuesday morning, and going for one last swim, we hit the road and drove up to the mining town of Weipa. Another day of great roads, no doubt it will get rougher the closer we get to the "pointy bit".
Set up camp at the caravan park, where Kerrie and Adam had already arrived. Had a drive around town, not much going on here except mining. And fishing - the van park is full of people with fishing boats. Lee sussed out some good fishing spots, while Lea kept a keen eye out for crocs. As usual.
Back to camp for a swim, some dinner, and an early night - the heat has been cranked up a notch in the last couple of days and has zapped us.
Wednesday morning Lee got up early and went fishing, and caught a couple of nice queenies, a little shark, and a catfish. All went back in, but he had a bit of fun, and got to use his new castnet to catch some livies. Lea was just happy he didn't catch a croc.
At the moment Lee is waiting to hear about a flyfishing charter with a guy here in Weipa, so stand by for more fish photos!
