hey hey hey
as we are falling pretty far behind right now we are going to try and speed through a few updates, they will come quickly so you might need to backtrack to keep up with us...you have been warned haha!
ok we last left off as we were leaving ljubljana, and if you have been an active blog follower you would have been aware that we have run late for/missed several trains/buses/boats...well basically every form of transport we have taken anywhere, and our seemingly simple trip from ljubljana to bled was no exception to this late karma we have going at the moment.
quite simply to set the scene we arrived at the train/bus station and while adam ran off to check international train timetables, chloe brought the bus tickets. however.......the line for train information was taking forever and there was no way were going to make our 10am bus, so chloe went to go change over the tickets for the next bus...but she had gotten them ripped by the bus driver so the bus station officer wouldnt accept the refund. all this time adam had finished at the train station and had no idea where chloe was, the following 15 minutes of freaking out because he had thought he had lost chloe was needless to say not the most enjoyable experience haha. Luckily she appeared like an angel from the heavens just when adam was at his wits ends, and they went off together to fight the terrible bus station officer monster. Pretty much as soon as Adam appeared and flexed his muscles the bus station officer did a backflip and offered us a refund, and the two travelers were on their way again...next stop BLED! (Spoiler alert******this was not the end of the dilemmas that the two adventurers would face this same day :-O)
Arriving in Bled we walked the real ass about way to our hostel and proceeded to check in, however the reception was closed untiil 4am..being 1:30pm we were not too keen on waiting around with our bags for 2.5hours and instead wanted to be out exploring this destination that had come so highly recommended from Chloe's Oma and Stari-Ate. We called the hostel management and had them rush down to welcome their VIP guests into the hostel, but when they arrived the only problem was that...they didnt even have our reservation...and they were fully booked out that night!!! Being ever so hospitable they offered us use of a futon bed for the night, then the following night we would have to change to a private room and the thrid night we would again have to shift into a dormitory room...there goes our hope of a relaxing few days. While Adam unwillingly accepted this undesirable situation, Chloe did not! She set off to the tourist center and was lucky enough to get us a private room, with a tv, which had cable tv, and with a balcony, and we didnt have to change rooms every night, ohhh and it worked out to be even cheaper then the hostel would have been!!! It was a win win situation for everyone...except our original hostel we abandoned haha!
Settled in we decided it was time to go exploring. Our first stop, getting a row boat and making our way out to the church in the middle of Lake Bled so Chloe could ring the bell for her Stari-Ate.
With minimal rowing experience under his belt, Adam did a top notch job of rrowing the boat the 800m journey to church..even if it did take him 40minutes as opposed to the 15minute time recommened by the people we hired the boat from. Folllowing this Adam had to carry Chloe up the stairs to the church..all 99 steep steps! Then Chloe got to ring the bell, while Adam recovered under a tree in the shade haha! One bonus that came from this iron man-esce work out is that Adam is looking super sexy and buff now, so ladies your all in for a treat when we return to Melbourne in August...pencil in August 18th in your diaries hahaha! Oh and in other news, because Adam offically made the journey with Chloe in his arms up the Everest of Bled they apparently considered to be married in Slovenia (lucky shes a good cook hey!).
After taking in the view for a while, we decided to head back to the mainland..that and the fact that the boat was due back at 7pm so we had to factor in that it would take us at least 40 minutes to get back with our amazing rowing skills. Chloe demanded a turn at the rowing and with a really good tailwind somehow managed to get the boat back in under 40minutes. Yes yes Chloe beat Adam's time, laugh it up...ok now back to the story...
As it was getting kind near tea time and the two travellers were getting a little peckish they made a beeline for a pizza restaurant. It was a pretty damn cool pizza joint too, Chloe even got to design her pizza and the chef made it up...lucky b*****! We had come to the end of a good day and after watching some world cup action we decided to call it a day...
This is where we unfortunately have to leave it for today, but stay tuned kiddos...we will update this blog very soon with the next fwe adventerous days in Bled.
PEACE OUT! Adzy and Chlo
