AUFWEIDERSEN!!!!!
So its time to fill you all in on our adventures in the Lovely country of great Cheese and Chocolate.. thats right im taking about SWITZERLAND!
so i think when we left off we had just arrived in Lucern in Switzerland, which is to the north, in the German region and in the middle of the Swiss Alps:) We kind of decided to head to Lucern as a bit of a last minute idea we figured "why the hell not!" and i must say we are both glad we did, Lucern is beautiful. for anyone who has ever been the best way to describe it is as a FAIRYTALE TOWN. It is a little city right out of the pictures of a story book, picturesque lanscapes, mini castels and Forts surrounding the enourmous lake, little cobblestone streets and when you can see the alps from your hostel, your not doing to bad trust me!!!
When we arrived in Lucern on Monday the streets and parks were packed which we found out was because it was a public holiday, no one could actually tell us what the public holiday was for, just that it existed and everyone got the day off to relax, eat, drink, swim and party! lol the swiss have some good ideas going!
after we had done some exploring we headed back to our Hostel and had a pretty early night, determined to get some sleep for a big day of exploring ahead. The next morning after some breaky we went out and about with a map and just figured we would find things to do, heres the thing about Lucern though... unless you have money and lots of money, Lucern is a big tease town showing you all the amazing adventure activities you COULD do if you are willing to pay for it. im talking Paragliding, Cable Cars, Bungie jumping, skydiving and it goes on and on and on! hahah but never fear we were determind to have a good time on a budget!!!!
first thing we did was wander around the town admiring the amazing views, no matter were you are in Lucern there is a beautiful view, even the parking lots have views hahah we found this trail that led up some steep hills to an old Fort that rested at top, it was a steep climb but once we got to the top it was worth it, absolutely breathtaking.. the magnitude of the Swiss alps can truely be appreciated when your standing at a peak surrounded by them. From the fort we went to grab some lunch which we THOUGHT was some delicous little savoury bakery treats... no no no we had bought some of the sweetest desserts ever.. thats what happens when you dont speak German hahah
after our failed attempt at lunch and getting some amazing picture we headed to do some sunbaking at a local park which was right by the Lucern lake, where everyone was chilling out with music food, drinks and a soccor ball, anyone would think this public holiday lasted a week! so here was the challange... were we willing to swim in the crystal clear waters of Lucern lake ( a reminder people these waters are from the alps...not partuarly warm) but hey were tough, and we did it and it was FREEEZING!!!!! pretty funny to watch though!!
The next day we did some more exploring and decided to take the boat around Lucern lake and stop off and a old massive house at the top of one of the hills, it had a winery and a miniture farm and things, more for kids (so chloe loved it lol) but still we had a great day, after that the boat picked us up and took us back to the main port where we went back to our hostel, picked up our bags and headed to the train station to catch a train to Burn the capital of Switzerland and then on a train to Barcelona.... or so we thought.
turns our the French are on strike.... DAM FRENCH!!! so instead when we arrived in Burn we had to catch a train to Geneva then a bus would pick us up and take us the rest of the way to Barcelona...12 hours people.....not happy. but oh well we are here now its 1:30pm and we are in Barcelona!!!
(chloe has already had spanish churros it was on the top of the"to do list" hahahah)
anywho we are off to see whats happening here in spain! love you all heaps, please keep sending us the messages, we love them!!!
Haseta luego!!!!
