We drove the 94 miles back down the coast to Coral Bay and booked onto the Manta Ray tour, only snorkelling as unfortunately all the dive places were full. However when we turned up the next day one of the divers hadn't shown up, so Joel and I decided to do one dive each on the trip and then snorkel for the rest of it. I snorkelled at the first stop, Asho's Gap, and it was really good. There were hundreds of different types of coral, I saw a huge school of fish and we swam right over a shark cleaning station, where were saw 3 or 4 sharks swimming around as well as a turtle that was being cleaned by some fish! The next part of the day was the manta ray interaction, and we were split up into 2 groups so that we could take it in turns swimming with the rays. At first there was just one ray, about 3 metres across, and we spent ages following it around as it was feeding. We got to have 3 gos swimming alongside it, and when it was time for our second go another ray had turned up! They were both huge, but were really graceful as they were swimming around and feeding, sometimes swimming right underneath us! They aren't at all dangerous to humans either, and it was great to get to be so close to wild mantas! The final stop of the trip was at a place called Lottie's Lagoon, and it was my turn to dive. This dive spot was a bit different, with more sand, but still lots of coral around and there were loads of fish - I saw some rays feeding on the seabed, as well as loads of tropical fish, even some clownfish (although the ones in WA don't look like Nemo - these ones were black and white). It was a really great trip, and when we got back to the dive shop to pay the lady even gave us a discount as we had only done one dive each - bargain! In the evening we ate at the campsite restaurant to celebrate our 7 year anniversary (already!), and I finally got to eat a lasagna after almost 2 months! We also splashed out and got desserts to, these really delicious ice cream desserts - mine was passoinfruit icecream covered in chocolate and Joel had coffee, vanilla and hazlenut coated in chocolate! It was good to splash out for once, especially as the next 3 days are going to be spent just driving as we make our way up to Broome.
