Monday. Our last full day in Arbroath and the sun is shining. Right after breakfast Ashley, Naomi, and I went into town to do some laundry so we could be semi clean through the rest of the trip. When we got back I worked on sorting through my photos, working on my letters for Edinburgh, and writing postcards. By the time I finished it was lunch time, and we had this soup that I thought tasted like pizza, but looked more like soupy salsa.....(this what happens when I don't catch the name of the soup), with chicken on a stick served with peanut sauce. After lunch we split off into those going to the cliffs, staying at Hospitalfield, or a hike at Reekie Linn. Since Reekie Linn was the only place I had not experienced, that is the group I went with. It was a bit of a drive, but the scenery is beautiful. Of course, where we went was no longer in the sunshine. As soon as we got out of the vans it started to rain. Thankfully almost the entire hike was under tree cover. The trail runs along a small river that then runs over a waterfall, and it is really pretty. The trail had us up quite a ways from the water so we were also able to pay more attention to the trees and an adjacent field with some big ole cows. We had an hour, which did not give us enough time to get to the end of the trail, but what we did get to see was beautiful. On our way back we stopped in Kirriemuir, which is the town where the author of Peter Pan , Sir J M Barrie lived. We walked around the town and checked a Peter Pan statue out before hitting the road back to Arbroath. When we got back we had dinner which was chicken lasagna, with a scone filled with strawberries and cream: yum. After a short food baby hibernation Ashley, Alison, and I walked into town for one last pint/half pint, said goodbye, and then walked back. I packed all my things up before I went to sleep, and can't believe that our 2 weeks at Hospitalfield are up. We have been busy since we got here and looking back it feels like the time was here and gone with nothing in between. Then I look at the photos that I and others have taken, and remember all of the many experiences we have had not only here in Arbroath, but on the entire trip. Holy banoly, this most excellent trip is almost over! There are two main highlights left though, Sara and Christoph's wedding in Homberg, Germany, and visiting Amsterdam for the first time! Can't wait:)
