Started the day out with a tour of Hospitalfield with Willy that lasted for 3 and a half hours:) Willy basically knows everything about Hospitalfield and it's history so he told us everything about the exterior and it's history, and then went inside and told us about the inside as a whole, and then went in detail for the gallery, antechamber, dining and drawing room. He told us about the history of ownership and their crazy stories filled with inheritance issues, abandonment, and cradle robbing romances. All that story telling
made us hungry, so we went down for lunch which was tomato basil soup and the most delicious guacamole and corn pancakes with guacamole. In the afternoon we drove to the Fettercairn Distillery in Fettercairn. We took a tour of the distillery which was interesting, and last but not least got to have a wee dram. Not many of the ladies on our trip enjoy straight whiskey, so a few of us got to have more than one;) On the way back to Hospitalfield we stopped at Edzell Castle and got to look/climb around there. The castle has a beautiful hedge garden and a few resident peacocks. Once we got back we had shepherd's pie for dinner and a meringue/caramel dessert. I uploaded more photos online, and look a walk around Hospitalfield and then down to the waterfront to walk on the sand. After working on a few lists and organizing a few albums, I am ready for sleep. Highland games tomorrow!!
