Explaination: I was planning on going to Dublin, Ireland over a 2 day break that we are having (planning as in I bought plane tickets there and back) but I accidentally booked a day too early, and chose poor flight times. So that little side trip just fell threw like a load of sheep crap, which is sad, but I am actually happier that I'm not going. The trip was going to end up costing me more because of the mix ups and it would have been very rushed and stressful. Now I have time to give some well deserved attention to working on design projects so I hopefully don't fail in my academic and professional life:) Happy thought. Now that I have shared that wee bit o information I will tell you about my day. Started out with a trip to Dundee to drop off some people that left on their trips. AARG (Ashley, Alison, Rachel, Grace) walked around the city in search of vintage shops. We found one really intriguing one, but it was closed (we are taking a bus back tomorrow.) Afflicted with a case of the hunger, we stopped at a cafe that had long cases along the walls filled with all sorts of baked goods. Although the sweet goodies were so very tempting, I ordered a sausage roll, and oh man was it tasty. After walking all over downtown we met up with Don to drive back to Hospitslfield for lunch. Lunch today was potatoe and leek soup...finally something familiar:) After lunch we drove into Arbroath to walk around. Grace, Don, Al, and I found a cafe that sells used books, where we found a couple treasures. Once our time in town ended we returned to our temporary castle home for a dinner of lime chicken and with a strawberry mousse and cookie with strawberry sauce. So much food, so full. Right after dinner a few of us drove to the
Seaton Cliffs to walk on the path above the cliffs, or in Alison and my case, climb all over on them. I think I could have climbed all over in those cliffs all day. I will say, I have never seen black slugs like the ones I saw on this venture, just big black slugs everywhere. While on this trip I keep getting ideas for different projects, and wish that I would have had these ideas from the beginning so I can be consistent throughout, but I think everything will work out. I am surprised, usually when I travel, I am excited to move to the next city and immerse myself in what is going on there but on this trip I am really missing the Isles of Harris and Lewis. When I think of Scotland, that is what I will think of. It was the most unique experience with the winding roads through the rocky/hilly landscape, sheep everywhere, secluded towns, and beautiful water everywhere whether the coast or inland. The next two days I hope to get in some alone time and sketching/design time (being around a load of women all day everyday is beginning to lose it's otherwise desirable appeal -to most people:) Worked on uploading a categorizing photos, and now for some sleep!
