Alrightie, lets see...well I am still coughing my brains out, but the congestion that was making me feel suffocated has finally let up enough that I can breathe (although the drippy nose is def. annoying). I am really glad to be feeling better though!
I stopped my the Student Medical Centre on campus Thurs. morning and the receptionist (otherwise known as a non-medical professional) said to me "well the Dr. is booked full today and you look like you have Swine Flu so you should be put in isolation, you should have never left your apartment!" Thank you, non medical professional, I didn't realize Swine Flu had a "look" to it. I then returned to my apartment and preceded to call the closest Dr. on a list that had been provided to me from the college. The first receptionist asked me if I was a patient and I said no and she said well then I can't fit you in until next week but try this number and this number. So I try Dr. number two, nope same story he gives me a number, Dr. number three says the same thing and gives me another number. So on to Dr. number four, nope same deal and ditto for number five. Alright, I was really getting sick of this whole thing at this point (no pun intended). I did not feel good and no one was helping me feel better and that is a very fusterating feeling, especially when you are away from home! So I figured what the heck I'll try these last two numbers before I give up. Amazingly Doctor number 6 (here on out known as Dr. Paul Kieran) answred himself and said he would be more than happy to see me at 4pm. I was so happy! He gave me directions/an address and even told me what time I needed to call a cab in order to get there on time. So I went and saw him, and ironically he runs his practice the same way my Dr. back home does, so I felt right at ease. He told me that I have Bronchitis and put me on an antibiotic to make me better.
So, I am feeling better today, although I did plan a nice quiet day since I want to feel well enough to go to Galway for the weekend tomorrow. Dr. Kieran said I could as long as I felt okay, because by that point the medicine wil have been in me for over 24hours. Today I slept in, or rather slept for a long time b/c I went to bed at a decent hour but I've been sleeping for 12 plus hours solid these last few nights (must be from not feeling well) and then Jill and I did laundry. and then I drank tea and spent the rest of the day relaxing and drinking more tea :)
Tomorrow I am suppossed to leave at 9am for the bus ride into Galway, we are staying at a Hostel and Saturday is a free day, although a hop-on-hop-off tour has been arranged with Healy Tours. On Sunday we leave the Hostel at 10am for a trip/tour of The Burren and The Cliffs of Moher. For those reading this that don't know what they are...Google it because they are VERY cool!
Right now though, I'm going to go back to relaxing and drinking my tea...Until next time :)
