So, we´ve been to the banalieros, or however you say it, basically a huge swimming pool filled with natural sulphur water. We spent the whole day reading and swimming a bit. Had a few people asked if they could take our picture... (er why... becauseyou´re white) then headed back to the hotel.
Had dinner at Tony´s pizzas two nights in a row. so not very adventurous, but we did have aburger one night!
We left cuautla early on sunday because although there´s meant to be a ledge market there, we couldn´t see any stalls. so we spent the morning wandering round the HUGE market in tepoztlan, bought some glowing stars for the wall to decorate our cabana, read a bit more, and generally lazed around. oh and we planned our lessons for today too.
This morning, after another imaginative breakfast of nesquick and melon (and camohmile tea, bleurgh) we set off to the first school in Ixcatepec, about 20 mins walk away from the camp. We taught the 6th year first. they were a bit cheeky, but I shouted at them and made one lad stand outside for sitting on a little girl, so I think they got the message! hehe. Their english is really basic though. lots of work to do.
The 5th year was a different story, they didn´t sit still, but they were more keen to learn, maestra, maestra, es correcto? all the time, but slightly harder to control. I made loads of them spit out their chewy - no se pueden hablar cuando estan comiendo - you can´t talk when your eating! haha! it was ace to see their faces
And just now, we´ve made the lamest attempt in the world to wash our clothes. we used the sinks in the gardens to soak them, mix them with washing powder, and then there were scrubbing board type things. we were rubbish, I think that I got more water on the clothes i was wearing than anywhere else. And then we had a small disaster with the washing lines. Lizzie dropped hers and then got leave and dirt all over her clothes. it brushed off though. a bit.
anyway, nearly time to set the tables for lunch with the becarios. school dinner stylee. eeew. (but I quite like it really.....)
and next week, we are going to the lavendaria (laundrette) to wash our clothes. que horror!
hasta luego
