Today we spent a fair bit of time driving, which was quite good as it got to about 35 degrees so the aircon was quite welcome.
We left Narrung via the ferry which is free and operates 24/7. We drove through lots of small towns today including Wellington, Langhorne Creek, Strathalbyn, Finniss, Goolwa, Hindmarsh Island (where the Mighty Murray River meets the sea) and Victor Harbour. It was interesting reading about the history of this area, which was once so reliant on the water ways and ports to receive and send goods. Today these towns are very environmentally aware and all take care of the lake system and the nearby Coorong National Park.
Decided to spend the night in a free camp just outside Currency Creek and got there just before the weather broke and the rain came down not long after. What a relief that the weather has cooled down this evening. No TV reception here so will watch something on our hard drive I'm sure.
Sweet dreams from South Australia xx
