Woke up rather early as we had some inconsiderate campers next to us who got up early and made quite a lot of noise - probably unaware of how their voices carried. Also, I dreamt of smoke all night and discovered they have a bush pig set up almost under my bedroom window. A bush pig is like an oven, heater and hot plate all in one. You put wood inside, it has a chimney and a hot plate for your Dutch oven or billy.
After brekky, Gadi drove to Ford in Port Lincoln to check on our car problems while Cadbury and I stayed with the van. I made a big bolognese in the thermal cooker, so I can cryovac and freeze in portions.
Good news! The DSC and ABS fault was able to be reset, but it turns out our battery was quite low and so we had to buy a new one - better now than on the Nullarbor.
Finally we were able to head off, albeit not until 2.30pm. First stop, Coffin Bay as I hadn't had my oysters yet. We sat in the little general store next to the caravan park and enjoyed the afternoon sun trying to shine. My dozen oysters au naturale were absolutely delicious. Of course, Gadi wouldn't even try one! Then we headed off to our next destination not too far away -
Coles Point. We drove here a couple of days ago and although we thought the beach and cliff top were stunning, the weather was windy and gray and we really wanted to come back and see it in sunny conditions. We were not disappointed! We arrived in time to see the sun begin to set on the gorgeous expanse of wild beach. We perched the car and caravan on the cliff top and literally drank in the view, clicking away with our iPhones and camera. What a place to stay for the night.
Gadi and Cadbury went for a run on the beach and I enjoyed watching them from the comfort of my chair and with my camera in hand. Cadbury really enjoyed frolicking in the sand and running in and out of the water. We cooked dinner and ate by candlelight outside on the edge of the cliff.
Tonight we will fall sleep to the sound of crashing waves. It's a hard life!
Night night, sweet dreams xx
