I don't know what everyone did today, but I got to explore the alsolutley beautiful Queenstown. And yes, you should be jealous. It was amazing! It's not a massive, bustling city, but it's not a tiny little village either. It was just perfect.
We started the day by exploring the town, walking through the tiny street malls and checking out the unique little shops that are scattered all over. It was a good morning, as I was walking out of Dotti, I looked down and found $15 on the ground! That paid for Morgan's gift ;) Then we headed down to the lake, which had a man made beach sort of thing, which doesn't really work with a still lake, and found another $3.70 in the sand! It was a lucky day!
We headed back up to solid land and discovered a massive amount of Autumn coloured leaves on the ground, and I just HAD to make a leaf angel! It's good practise for the snow! We sat in the leaves for a while, I don't know why, but it was so good! I don't see leaves like that in huge piles in Australia.
We decided to stop looking like fools and got up to walk around a bit of the lake. Queenstown has some amazing parks, and one had a - wait for it - FRISBEE GOLF! It's pretty much what the name is, you throw frisbee's into holes that have par's. It's freaking insane! Kristy & I would suck at it, but hey! Do as they do is New Zealand! We saw heaps of backpackers playing and our hostel is doing a group session on Saturday and offering a free sausage sizzle... VERY tempting.. Free food!
We also walked through the garden parks which was beautiful and cheked out the Ice Skating Rink, which has half price on Saturday, so that was tempting as well. I've never been Ice Skating, so that's on the list of things to do! We continued on our walk and went back into town to look at stuff we had missed, and went back to the hostel for lunch, like good little no-money backpackers.
Ajah arrived shortly after we got back to our room, so we caught up for a bit before we headed into town again to get some Cider. We had a drink of that and everyone in our room was getting ready to go out. Kristy & I were just heading down to Altitude Bar for another one of their famous Pizzas & Beer for $7, and it was just as amazing as the night before! We were thinking about getting free cocktails at 9pm for the ladies, but really weren't in the drinking mood, and I didn't even finish my beer! Terrible!
Our night was pretty horrible. Not too long into the night, two of the girls in our room came home from drinking, and one of them was so sick! She was throwing up ALL night, and when she was laying in bed, she almost chocked on her vomit, and then threw up in her bed, and all in the two bins in the room. It was horrible, and I wish we didn't have to share a room with her. Lucky she was only here for one night.
We decided that we would get up early at 7.30am to go for a run! But I was still up at 2am having to listen to this girl chuck her guts up. Digusting.
