So, what did you do from 8.30am to 5.15pm? So that's 8hours and 45mins. Worked? Slept? Watched a movie or 5? Seen friends? Well I, got to spend it on a bus! But we did get the luxury of stopping for a 20min break at Auckland. Suddenly that bottle of water and large coffee isn't seeming like a good idea!
I'm lucky that I enjoy bus rides, so most of the time I just spent it looking out the window and daydreaming about anything and everything, after all, I have 8 hours to do so! I ended up having about 4 mini power naps as well!
One of the things I love about looking out the window while going through the rural areas, are the massive hills, which are a deep green, and seeing them littered with white tiny sheep! Or even cows, and I HATE cattle! Again, reading was out of the question, it seems to make me travel sick.
We got to Rotoura pretty late, and again, had to walk a bit to our accommodation. Which was hell. I decided to be nice to Kristy and carry her bags, and wondered why she was laughing at me. I soon found out why, when I discovered her bags were a bit heavier than mine! And she had 2 of them! I thought I was a bad packer... haha
After we checked in, and went up 4 flights of stairs, we found our room was, again, brilliant! It's a 'Girl's Sanctuary' and is spacious, very modern and has its own facilities & balcony.
You can see the 'Steaming Lakes' from our balcony, and we went to check them out, but couldn't get too close as the smell was horrendous! We opted to go to the night street markets instead, and took our only other roommate, Emily, with us. We got some dinner while we had a look around at the stalls. It was a good night!
Now it's time for bed before having to be awake for the earliest time on this trip to go back on a bus!
