So I was informed by Miss Hayward that I hadn't written on here for a week...My bad. Since the BBC were here everything has quietened down. They didn't leave quietly however. Gillian the producer hallucinated in the night before their last day and thought she was climbing out of a boat and would fall in to water, what she actually did was climb out of her bedroom window and fall 10ft on to the forest floor! She was taken to hospital and luckily she was fine, no broken bones, just in a lot of pain!
So since then days are back to normal, I'm still working on the Slow Loris project. I'm also going out in the day now just to find which tree he is sleeping in and working out the height, species of tree etc. I haven't actually been out for a couple of days as the elephants have decided to come back through our patch of forest so it's not very safe to go out. I think I will be able to go out tonight though and do the shift of 12-3am...yay! No it's not that bad, although the other night Krik was so far from the path we got a little bit lost and it took us 20 mins just to find the path that would lead us back! Tobago project is still lingering over my head to finish so as I'm not going out today I've told myself I have to do some work on that. We're all currently putting together the 'Jungle Times' too. It's a newsletter which comes out once a month about what's going on at DG and gets sent round previous employees and to Cardiff uni. Only have a couple of days to do it, so we should really get started!
Not much happening here, the two boys who are here from Aberystwyth uni leave this week and a couple of new people coming in soon, not much else to report!
I put some more pics up, elephants again! I went out on the boat to find the collared proboscis monkey and we came across an elephant and her baby crossing the huge river! Was sweet to watch, she was pushing it the whole way, could just its little trunk poking out!
Hope all is good back at home!
Lots of love xx
