We left the unit at 7 mile beach on friday and booked in at the Grand Chancellor at constitution dock and we have a beautiful picture window of the harbour and the boats so quite a good choice. Did the must do Cadbury factory tour which must say I enjoyed and stocked up with a few goodies. Again wandered around salamancer market which was a bit of a non event but this time found all the little nooks and crannies of the old sandstone buildings beside the market which was really enjoyable and worth it. Went to a cooking demo and tasted some yummy salmon. A few art galeries and a nice leisurly lunch with a bowl of soup and a glass of chardonnay in a lovely courtyard- sublime.
Walked into centre of Hobart and went to the Cat and Fiddle arcarde - oh what have they done to you!!!it is such a sad sad place to be all tacky shops around it what a shame.
Most Memorable moment: Where we are staying is attached to the Federation concert hall so Alan managed to get the last few tickets to the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra with Sebastian Lang-Lessing as the chief conductor. The two peices playing was Brahms Violin Concerto and Tchaikovsky Symphony No 4. It was stunning no other words for it. Henning Kraggerud the guest violinist played and was most moving and heart stirring. A very moving night and a brilliant start to our journey which begins on Monday morning to Port Davy
