Planned to leave at 8am but managed 9am for salamancer markets which was a lovely way to spend two hours wandering.
Next cruised around the bay and ended up at the shot tower at Taroona. Alan surprised us with his prowess of climbing the 259 steps and received his little sticker to say how clever he was -must be because he has the lungs and arteries of a 20 year old according to several very knowledgeable doctors -(quacks according to George lol)
Lunch was a nice scottish thick soup in the basement in front of warm crackling fire. Enjoyed a nice tour of Hobart Town and then home for a cuppa and chat. George received bad news that the window of their shop had been damaged overnight so cost $1200 which is an unexpected expense for them.
In the evening went out to dinner at the Ball and Chain restaurant where 40 years ago alan and I had our wedding reception - just the two of us. Nothing stays the same but the restaurant is in salamancer place and is very popular
Driving around Hobart is very easy and not stressful. It hasnt changed very much and is still beautiful
Most memorable moment: Well I seem to be saying food all the time so might opt for seeing Hobart town again and bringing back all the memories but I have to tell you that scottish soup was yummmy
