On Wedneday 01 July we set off for Keswick in the Lake District which was going to be quite a drive.
We stopped for pictures at Loch Lomond and few other lochs on the way to Dunoon (which is the swine flu capital of the UK) so we did not want to stop there. We called into Holy Loch which is where the US Submarines used to be docked, this was on the way to the ferry terminal which took us over to Glasgow. Drove through Glasgow and arrived at Keswick around 4pm.
We hadn't pre booked any accomadation so called into the Tourist Info centre and managed to get a place two minutes walk from town, very nice only three rooms and best of all it only had a couple of stairs, hurray we finally got it right.
On Thursday we drove up to Secret View, magnificent views as you can see, then drove on up to Watendlath which is at the end of the road, it is a working farm and they had a tea room, we got some lovely photos up there. We then went back down to the Lake for a mooch around and lunch, then back to the B & B for a rest.
On Friday we headed back to Letchworth as Colin & Sheila had a funeral to attend which was at 5pm, we arrived home in plenty of time.
So that was our trip to Scotland, it was amazing, we are having a wonderful holiday so far.
