Hi all, well we are back from our trip to Scotland, the internet access was not good up that way so we unfortunately couldn't update as we went along so we will do a few snapshots of our trip.
We started our journey on Sunday 21st June, our first stop was Holy Island, Lindesfarne we stayed at Wooler which is close by in a 17th Century coach inn, The Black Bull, lovely old place with lots of stairs......and I mean lots of stairs we were exhausted by the time we hauled our luggage up.
You can only get on and off Holy Island at low tide, we had to be on before 10am and could not return until 6pm, we had an amazing day roaming all over the island where there was the castle, old church and monastry, which was founded by St Cuthbert who walked across from the mainland at low tide.
There was lots of walking which is good for you right....so we were exhausted before we had to takle all those stairs again.
