The Yosemite valley was about two hours from where we camped which put us in the heart of the valley at about noon. The valley is the land of people. People are everywhere from all nationalities and races. We even saw four black faces. We were preped for a true hike and what we are learning about our parks is a double edged sword. The park department makes all of these beautiful pieces of nature available to all ages and abilities by putting in paved, sidewalk width pathways to all main features. This mean EVERYBODY can enjoy them.
We 'hiked' the mist trail which climbs up to vernal falls. Once you reach the viewing bridge a series of 600 granite steps wind up the shillside. We hiked half way up and had lunch under the mist of the gigantic waterfall behind us. We when walked back down the path to the bus stop.
Because of the mass amounts of people and vehicals the park has a transit system. The route passed pizza, burgers, bar, outfitter, visitors center and eventually stopped at our parking lot. The valley floor is a touron disaster.
