Day 45. The Boyne Island CP is excellent and worth a return visit. We headed away to Bundaberg and Burnett Heads, our last coastal localities. We went via 1770 and Agnes Waters. We first heard about 1770 from people we dined with at the Laura pub near Cooktown. Then Ros recommended Agnes Waters so we wanted to take a look. 1770 is so named as it is the second place on mainland Australia that Cook made landfall. It is a bit of a gem for retirees and tourists alike. The locals were particularly friendly and Elle was as usual, a big hit..... as long as she kept her teeth to herself!
Then we drove on through Bundaberg to our Lighthouse CP. Nice spot on the mudflats and sometime beach, typical of most of the Coral Sea beaches. We are at the very end of the Barrier Reef and the top of Fraser Island. The wind has returned!
