Day 12 - We hoped the drive to the next stop would be better than the last ones and thankfully it was. With a break and a small delay due to an accident of a burnt out car we made it to the next stop; Belle Époque near Aurillac.
The place is a restaurant with rooms of which there are four. Each is a building on its own, three of them are wooden lodge style and the one we are in is attached to the restaurant and being stone built it is fairly cool.
It has a large downstairs lounge and two rooms upstairs. The main room is clearly not for kids as the bedside table had the Kama sutra book on it. Different!
Once the car was unloaded, we headed into Aurillac to have a look around in case it rained tomorrow. The town has a nice little park in the centre but otherwise is fairly modern and lacking character. It was quite hot and so we headed back to the hotel. Tomorrow we would find the historical centre which is more pedestrianised and hopefully in lower temperatures in the morning.
The dinner was nice. Duck in orange sauce and chicken en-croute. Both were very good. We probably should have stopped at cheese as we were both full when the dessert came out.
The rain didn't come whilst we were sat outside and neither when we were back inside. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
