True to form, our departure date changed again. Now it looks like tomorrow noon is the time.
So this morning after breakfast at the Market, Marty and Peter went for the fresh bread, fruit, vegetables, wine, etc., and upon returning we all formed a chain to transfer the food from the cart to inside the boat for proper stowing.
After lunch, Peter took Erica and I on deck and explained the man-overboard procedure and gave us an introduction to the lines, rigging, and reefing procedure. He also showed us how to start and stop the diesel and how to operate the hydraulic boom vang.
Erica Skyped her parents and I got to say hello to her Mom and see her dog Chip running around in the background. Her parents seem like great folks and like most parents, concerned about her safety while wanting her to have a great, fun experience.
Tonight was a special night when we ordered pizza and broke out the red wine and invited guests over to share, hopefully, our last night in Annapolis for the season. We had Marty Munch, Philip, and Paula over and the conversation was very lively, and often we had several conversations at once ranging from business to politics, I was relieved to learn that Phillip was as conservative in his politics as I.
We all probably drank more than we should have but it was a good, happy evening and I expect everyone will to up to full capacity by the time we leave tomorrow. What time will that be? Peter says 10am but I suspect it will be closer to noon.
