So today was all about Plastic Catch, Mod 2.
I had learned a lot from yesterday so it only took me half as long to make a catch that was a big improvement over yesterday's production. After just one trial fitting and some additional whittling with my trusty Bosun knife, I installed the new catch closed the hatch and heard a very satisfactory click as the latch clicked into place.
My big payoff was when Erica came back from lunch and was so excited about her perfectly working hatch. I was glad I was able to pull that off.
We all went over to Davie's Pub about 3pm and had a couple beers and a snack. I only had a bagel for breakfast so I ordered the Crab soup which was a little disappointing. I guess I was expecting a cream base and got a clear broth instead
Anyway, we went back to the boat and watched a British comedy called "Dad's War". Very funny, especially if you're British. It's about the volunteer homeland defense that was established during WW2. No weapons, no uniforms, no experience and they were supposed to reply the invading Hun.
Everyone else went out to eat but I decided to stay in, do a little writing and call my wife Kim. She has been very busy at work and even if I was home, we wouldn't be seeing much of each other.
