The big task for today was putting up Peter's new genoa foresail. What a beauty, crisp and white. Can't wait to see it full of wind.
Then I remembered that when I was lubing the sheet carriages, I noticed that there was all matter of dirt and leaves and bugs trapped underneath. I got the dust broom, soapy water and brush, and started in. But the whole deck was really pretty dirty so I just started on the bow and swept the whole deck.
Peter also asked me to change the gas, (propane) bottles in the aft compartment, lash the swim ladder on the starboard lifeline, and mark the open position on the latches on the forepeak hatch with finger nail polish. This is necessary because there is no way to tell from topside when the latch is closed.
So about 5pm I went on liberty and headed to the Leeward Market to do some blogging. It was closed. So I made it down to Davie's Pub where we were all supposed to meet for roast beef. It was closed. There was a TV crew inside filming a commercial or something.
So plan C was to head for the only other bar I new which was the Boatyard Bar and Grill. I liked this place and ended up having 3 beers and ordering a lettuce wedge with blue cheese and bacon bits. Hmm good.
After that I was ready to go back to the boat. No one was on the boat when I arrived so I just hit my rack. End of another day.
