The Simple Life
Thursday saw the beginning of summer, an absolute scorcher of a day and Lyndsay's dinner date with John (he was all apologetic after bumping into Linz again at the Courthouse and had offered dinner as way of an apology - and the fool was falling for it hahahhahaah!)
Lynne dying on a few ciders after a very hot day in the office was pleasantly surprised when she bumped into Brian at Bondi Junction train station after work and he offered to take her for a few drinks. Linz joined them for a nerve calmer and as she hopped off for her date Lynne stayed out for a few more. The drinks were going well until Oor Liam appeared, the boy has impeccable timing!! Amends were made and Lynnith agreed they should just be "friends" from now on. Brian, however was non too pleased at the amount of time Lynne spent chatting with her ex so the tables were turned and it was a very drunken Lynne who had to then ask for Brian's number before staggering home via the supermarket!!!!
It was the quickest shower and change ever for Lyndsay and she was most relieved when John called to say he was running late. All was forgiven as he turned up even wearing a shirt - bless him! They had a few drinks in the flat whilst Linz tried to persuade him that Mexican food wasn't poisonous and that he could move away from the meat and potatoes!
They found the restaurant was mobbed on arrival so were sent to the pub opposite by the waitress until a table came up. Not a good idea as they'd had about 6 drinks on empty stomachs and were both tipsy by the time they ordered the food. This in itself was an ordeal and John ended up with steak and chips after all hahahhahaah! The meal was great and Linz was all loved up again! John was seemingly enjoying himself too! They went to the C&B afterwards but headed home for a smootchy evening instead - ah bless!
Friday was Lynne's last day at ING Bank so she headed to the City Hotel after work with Jamie and a few of the other lads. Lyndsay had to contend with her works Xmas Do before escaping to join her. It was a very posh affair with free booze and food but there's only so much conversation you can have with those that should be lining up for the morgue hahahhahaah! We managed our usual round of free drinks at the City Hotel and were a tad tipsy when we headed to Darling Harbour with Jamie, who was showing a bit more interest in Lynne than he had the previous weekend. Lyndsay headed off to the Junction in search of a bit fun while Lynne decided to stick around and hedge her bets with Jamie! Lyndsay had a couple in the C&B where she bumped into Sean and his mates and the gals they'd been chatting up weren't too impressed with her arrival hahahhahaah! It was a very drunken stagger home.......
The next day we made it out for breakfast then spent the rest of the day trying to recover for the big party in the T Gardens that night. It was a joint birthday party for Macker's 30th and McGill's 25th. To say the night was complete carnage is an understatement. The party was held in the upstairs bar of the T Gardens, slightly classier looking but the clientele was the same. The place was wall to wall Irish drinking, dancing, smoking and generally going mental. There were quite a few casualties by the end of the evening, we saw at least two people being carried out by the bouncers hahahhahaah.....
We were very well behaved. Lynne was a tad distressed at Liam's hook up with one of the young Dublin girls but c'est la vie the party goes on. She had pulled the gorgeous 22 year old Jamie the night before after all hahaha......Scotty McHottie made an appearance so occupied a lot of Lyndsay's evening but we were still both home alone by 3am. It was a bit late now for McHottie to suddenly discover he did find Linz cute after all! ARGH, men are like bloomin' buses!
Sunday was a scorcher and we spent the day in the gorgeous surroundings of the Coogee Bay Hotel beer garden. We were joined by McHottie and Johnny (used to work with Lynne at ING) and his friends. It was all very civilized and just what we'd needed after the madness of the night before.
Lynne headed home to bed about 9pm while Linz went off to meet John at the T Gardens, leaving Scottie confused the second day in a row when she turned down his dinner invitation. May have been a better option though as by the time she turned up to the T Gardens to meet John it was apparent that he was still going from the night before and was a tad worse for wear! They had two more drinks and Linz dragged John home where he romantically passed out on the sofa!
The following week was the best weather we'd had in Sydney so far, every day we woke to blue skies and blazing sunshine. Unfortunately Lynne had to venture to the beach on her own as Lyndsay still had a week left to work. We did break up the week with a Wednesday night drinking session at the Beach Road Hotel but feeling very sensible and trying to keep our money for our trip up the East Coast we were home only slightly tipsy before midnight.
Knowing we were flying to Cairns on the early hours of Sunday we planned a very quiet weekend. John still being fairly attentive had invited Linz over to his on the Friday night and the promise of drinks in the city! This was not to materialise though as he was already through his third beer with the boys when she turned up after work! Eventually John took the hint or was scorched by her eyes burning a hole in his head, and they got ready and had a few in the locals around John's area. He also got beaten at pool a fact which he is still denying to this day! It turned out to be a very fun night and it was a very hung over John that had to get up for a few hours overtime the following morning! Linz was still in bed by the time he'd finished his shift! They had a very lazy afternoon and then eventually Linz had to drag herself off the sofa to get home and organised for the trip up the coast the following morning.
Meanwhile Lynne had meant to be going out for drinks with Brian but as he was working the Saturday the plans fell through. Never mind an early night was had on the Friday and she was up bright and early packed for Cairns and down to Bondi Beach for another day sunbathing. The day suddenly got better who she did bump into Brian and his mates out catching a few rays after a hard morning at work! Oor Al also ventured to Bondi and almost tripped over his tongue when Lynnith and him, on their way for lunch bumped into Jamie in his board shorts. He was quickly forgotten about though when we headed to the Beach Road Hotel with Brian et al for a few drinks. Pretty soon it was only Brian and Lynne left and there was no question as to whether she found him cute or not now hahahhahaah....... Brian did want to take Lynne out for dinner but still covered in oil and sand they opted instead for a pizza back at Penkivil Street. Lyndsay by this point had returned from her evening and day with John so tucked into some pizza too.
