Breakfast this morning was gorgeous - poached eggs and sour dough bread with Hollandaise sauce! - YUM
Stomachs full we went to Queenscliff to get on the ferry over to Sorrento as we were travelling to Xenia's parents place in Mornington and oh my God, the kids, the bloody kids!
Once on the ferry (after a little bit of dodgy parking by Xenia!) we were suddenly surrounded by a class of 8 year olds who just decided to surround us! I lasted about 10 minutes before I told Xenia that I couldn't take it! We caved, we moved to the other end of the ferry!
Although we stopped at a brewery on the way, we didn't do much when we got to Mornington, we just went out for dinner and Xenia drove me around for a bit to show me the place which was beautiful, I think we were both just knackered from driving all week and so we just settled in to watch the Rugby.
I say watch the Rugby, I mean I forced Xenia to watch 20 minutes of it and then she watched something on her computer whilst I watched the game - poor woman prefers AFL, shame really…such a waste…
The next morning we got up and went out for breakfast again at another little café and then waited at the house for Pam and Rob to arrive.
They were there just after lunch and we sat and talked over a cup of tea or two before Emma arrived and we went out for dinner at the Mornington Star winery, a very nice place indeed and I had a gorgeous meal of Snapper with Mussels and Scallops in a white wine sauce - YUM!
The next thing we did was one of the funniest things ever - we went to the Dromana Drive In.
Now, that isn't funny in itself, but the lead up to it was hilarious. It was only Xenia, Emma and I that went and as we pulled up to the drive in, we noticed a sign saying tune in to a radio station, so we tried and couldn't get it to work. As we got closer to the kiosk, we saw another sign saying tune in again and then started to panic a little as we thought we couldn't get the radio to tune in to the signal and we would miss the film, so we resigned to asking the guy in the kiosk. The conversation when we got there went like this:
Xenia: Hi, 3 tickets please, oh and we are having trouble tuning in, could you help us please?
Kiosk Man: (pause) Tuning in to what?
Xenia: (pause) Umm, the radio station on the signs?
Kiosk Man: Oh that, ignore that that's nothing, it's just something for the locals - the signal you need to tune into will be on your ticket when you tell me what film you want to see.
(He really wasn't looking too happy at this point and all Emma and I could do was laugh hysterically - it didn't help that we laughed even more after this…)
Xenia: Oh right ok, well we'll see What's your Number and can we pay separately please?
Kiosk Man: No, you can't pay separately.
Xenia: What seriously, Ok I've got all this change….
(Laughhhhhh Laughhhhhh Laughhhhhh - oh my God - just hilarious, this guy was just looking totally pissed off!)
Still laughing we drove off after he told us to put the ticket on the dash board. The icing on the cake was when we saw him coming round later checking the tickets in peoples cars, when he walked towards our car he spotted me and then waved his hand in exasperation and just skipped our car!!?? He literally just walked past us and on to the next car causing us all to burst into hysterics again.
Moral of the story - if you don't want people to tune into a radio station, don't tell them too!
