So, after a lovely time at home, it was time to return back to Germany. It has been a good few weeks back, with a lot happing, and a lot of celebrating going on.
On my first day back it was Jana's birthday, so she had friends over and we chatted and drank and ate, but I was so tired from travelling it was hard to keep up! It also didn't help that I hadn't spoken German for 3 weeks!
The rest of that week was normal school, leading up to my birthday weekend and the Hull reunion.
I headed to Frankfurt on the Friday to meet everyone. However, before this happened I managed to get birthday tweets from Ian Wright and Ray Parlour, which made my day before it had really started! So when I arrived I met with Louise and Sebastian, and we waited eagerly for the others. Then came the phone call from Rebecca Hannah saying she had ended up at Frankfurt airport and was lost! Thankfully it wasn't too far away so we all met eventually at the station. There's always one, as they say! We checked into our hostel, which was nicely situated in the red light district, next to "World of Sex ". We had our catch ups, got ready and headed to Vicky's place for chinese, pre drinks and more catching up!
So a few drinks and 100 euros worth of chinese later we headed to Cocoon club, somewhere which I had wanted to go since arriving here! We queued to put our coats away and as the clock struck 12 I was hugely embarrassed as everyone decided to sing happy birthday, something they did 15 times during the whole day. I can only say that the singin improved slightly the mroe they sang.
We had a good time in the club, and after a few hours we went back and had a cheeky food and drink stop and went to bed. However, we noticed that someone was gong to be sharing our room with us, so I don't think we had much sleep all night due to the paranoia of being raped and/or murdered by the unknown man from Texas (we knew this as we had a nosey at his suitcase label). We woke up next mornin, had breakfast, chilled out and then went sight seeing in Frankfurt, something I had never done before...But it was really nice, especially at the top of the Main tower and by the river at sun set, was too romantic to be doing with the likes of Lucy, Becky, Rebecca and Nathan ;)
We again went back and got ready for another night out. but first we went to the most amazing restaurant ever, the food was so good, and the cocktails weren't bad either! We then headed to a karaoke bar and had a brilliant time, meeting with some other Hessen assistants as well. We then somehow ended up in an Irish bar after a 2 hour walk in the cold, but it was an interesting walk nonetheless!
The next morning we had to say our goodbyes and we all headed back to our homes in Germany. Once again school in the week and then the following weekend was another night out in Frankfurt, but this time with the Germans. We went to a club called Living, which was really good fun and the next day was just chilled, as was the rest of the week and weekend after, where we just met with friends and went to bars and watched our favourite TV shows.
So this week I have a long weekend, so I am heading to Bochum to stay with Becky and see what her area has to offer!
:-)
