So, it has been nearly a month since my last blog, I have just been so busy with the old preparing for Christmas and going home! I guess I should start way back at the beginning of December.
My good friend Jess Price managed to fly on her own from the UK to come see me for a few days. Although, I think her real motive was to see the Christmas markets! The first afternoon Jess had to come to a few lessons with me, but she seemed to be a big hit with the kids and we played a few games like Simon says. After, we headed off to Heidelberg to see the market and Schloss, which was stunning in it's Christmas lights. However, we both forgot our cameras, so we had to buy disposable ones, hense the lack of photos! We had a couple of wursts and mulled wine and headed back home to rest for our big day the next day-the day of my play!!
We were up bright and early as I had a double lesson to teacher, which Jess again had to sit through. We then had a few hours to look round the Bensheim market, then it was time for rehearsal, then two performances! Poor Jess had to endure my acting three times!
We then headed off to Frankfurt (again, I hope you see the running theme when people come to visit me!) and we went to our hostel, which turned out to be a really nice en suite room with tv and stuff...Jess did well!
We had some food and drink (wine ;) ) and went to sleep. The next day we went to the markets in the pouring rain, I feel Jess brought the weather over from England. Then, she had to go home, but we had a great time. :)
That night I went out with the German crew to a club, and the same was done the following weekend. :) During the week however, the English exchange boys were there, so I met them and had a good laugh. As a German said in the staff room, it was like D-day with this British invasion! I couldn't help but chuckle.
The following week I went to the Christmas market in Mannheim and a few bars with a friend, and the next day was the teacher's Christmas meal. It was a good laugh, with the teachers singing etc, and it made me wonder what the staff were like at my school! The next evening was spent with Jana and Pascal watching films and our favourite show "The Voice of Germany."
The next day I headed home, during a hurricane warning, so the turbulence was horrendous!
So that is that for now, until I return back to the land of sausage and beer!
:-)
