It's been over three weeks since my last blog, and as you can imagine I have done loads!
Starting way back at the 7th November, I met up with Alison, a girl at met at Altenburg, in Frankfurt. We did a(nother) bus tour, had a cheeky snoop around Occupy Frankfurt, went to the love lock bridge, which I shall explain more about later, and just generally had a good time and a good catch up.
After that I was just at school in the week, until the Friday wen my parents came to visit. It was great seeing them, even if i was kinda scared when my dad attempted to drive on the other side of the road in a hire car! The first evening we climb to the top of a hill to see the lovely views of Bensheim, had a look around my school then went out for dinner. The next day we drove to Heidelberg, egtting slightly lost on the way, by slightly I mean we added a good hour to our journey which should have taken only 30 mins! W did the usually looking around and going to the castle...I think I might have to update my tour guiding...it's getting a bit repetitive! The next day we went to Frankfurt and basically everything was shut, so we couldn't do much. Except we went to the love lock bridge. It is a bridge in Frankfurt with loads of locks on and couples and friends write their names on and lock thir lock to the bridge. There are a few bridges like this around the world. So, my parents put their own lock on...was cute :) After a wander around we got a bit bored so tried to find somewhere else to go and ended up in the quaintest town ever, Seligenstadt. It was a great find, as it was so cool and German! We then went for a meal, and the next day had a wander around Heppenheim and then they left. It was a great 4 days!
The following weekend I was back in Frankfurt (I feel there is a theme developing) as I went to see the Lion King in 3D with Vicky. Despite the film being in German, slightly ruining my childhood, it was brilliant, even if we were the only adults without children in there! Another beautiful moment was finding out that they have Percy Pigs in Germany, except that they are called Fred Ferkels. <3
The following week I had a fairly relaxed week at school, just making things for their Advent bazaar, which took place on the Friday. The bazaar was amazing, each form came up with a theme and things to do/sell/make, and basically took over the school. I had never experienced anything like it, they really took it seriously, but it was fantastic!
That evening though I headed to Cologne to meet up with Becky, Nathan and Lucy, ready for the beer bike!
We had a look around the Cologne Christmas Market and took photos of the dreaded Dom. I say dreaded as we have about a million photos of it already, we just seem to always end up in Cologne somehow! We went for dinner, then met up with some of Lucy's friends for cocktails. Myself and Becky had what can only be described as "Dragon Piss", mainly because it was green and we were having a Harry Potter moment. This moment came about because Lucy had some hilarious glasses, so we had a bit of fun with them.
The next day was beer bike day! We went to the "beautiful" city of Aachen and started our 2 and a bit hour session. I had never had so much fun, even if "I couldn't reach the peddles so coudln't peddle the whole way". ;) We had a great time drinking beer, partying to some tunes and just having a laugh, made even better by the moustashes that we all had on! After 2 or so hours and several wee stops we headed back to our hostel for some drinks, showers, laughs, then headed out for some more cocktails. As you can guess, we were a bit merry :) But is was brilliant.
The next day was sore, but we just chilled out and then headed back to our new hometowns.
It was a brilliant few weeks, and I have many more plans until I go home, mainly the Christmas markets. :D
Bis dann.
