India and Nepal 2022
It's been great getting ready for the Camino Portuguese. Lisbon is a wonderful city with so much to see and do. Together with my 'Camino amiga' Margita, I have been doing lots of walking along cobbled streets and hills to gain a little exercise in readiness for the walk ahead.
i am staying in the Alfama district which is one of the oldest parts of the city. Fado music is sung in cafes and bars along the narrow streets and there is a strong sense of community here.
Highlights from my sightseeing are the Tower of Belem, the monument of the discovers, pasteis nata (custard pies!), the tramcars, the castle and cathedral.
