Coimbra to Mealhada
Some days I feel like the rabbit on the Duracell battery adverts and could walk forever. This morning it was the opposite and I felt lethargic, probably due to a day's break from the Camino, and too much alcohol last night plus students singing all night outside our hostel!
I walk by myself and let Margita and Ric********** ahead while I listen to music and look out at the hills in the distance and the fields to my left and right. My mind wanders to what direction my life will take at the end of this Camino and my 'gap year' but I soon return to the present day and link up for a mid morning drink.
The rain threatens from time to time as we walk through villages and towns including one with a statue of a Camino pilgrim.
One minute I am walking on the busy N1 with high sided vehicles roaring past only feet away and the next in a serene eucalyptus plantation with silence. I like the contrasts provided by this Camino.
By the end of the day, I feel a bit more back in the groove and ready for the next few days leading to Porto.
