Long Way To NZ
Arrived in Prague on 3rd of May and stayed in a pretty crappy hostel for the first night. Met a guy called Doug there - he obviously doesn't find it to bad, hes been there 5months. He wakes up late, smokes weed until about midnight and then goes out to the brothels. What a life! He is looking for a flat at the moment so he can carry on with his career - growing and flogging weed!
Jon, Tom, Big Si and Criddy flew out on the Friday for the weekend (for those of you that don't know, i lived with jon at uni and the other idiots are his mates). So it turned out to be a weekend of sightseeing during the day and plenty of beers (and absinthe) at night.
The castle is the main place to visit in Prague and it is absolutely huge with various different museums. Charles bridge is tourist central with plenty of street sellers and the old guy turning is music box on wheels. Hes been doing it for years but still manages a smile!
Good and cheap food in Prague, mainly Goulash and dumplings - beginning to get a bit of a taste for the dumplings. Grilled ham and cheese though - a little too fishy for all of us.
After a visit to Staropramen brewery and plenty of bars we managed to get ourselves to 'The biggest club in central Europe'. Not actually all that big, but it is spread over 5 floors. Crazy dancing and 'Criddy' chanting led to playing table football and hitting punch bag machines down in the basement. I was pretty crap at the punching thing, I think Si got the most points - Jon came close but tried a little too hard (he found out when he got home that he broke his wrist playing it - 6weeks in plaster!!). The night was followed by a trip to a strip club, just wouldn't be complete otherwise!
We went on a road trip on the Monday to see the real Czech Republic. A guy called Peter (nice although on the verge of a breakdown) picked us up from Prague and took us to his hostel in a tiny village called Delecin in the south. It was a great place where we were told that two Aussies had just spent a week lazing there - it turned out to be Kevin and Eric who we met in Bratislava!! If it wasn't for the fact that our time in Europe is fast coming to an end I would have been tempted to stay there a while as well.
We left the Czech Republic on 10th May and travelled to Krakow in Poland.
