I had trouble getting up this morning. I think I got up at 10am. I was late for my last day of my project, however I knew that today was just a day for goodbyes. I got to my project at 11am, and the kids were learning more about Peru. The kids were leaving early today (around 12) because they were all going on a field trip to some park in Cuzco. Margoth stopped the class to let everyone know that today was my last day. While she was making her speech and thanking me for the help, I had tears in my eyes knowing that I will probably not see these kids again. I was really going to miss everyone. A few of the girls came to kiss me. Once everyone left, Gracie came to say goodbye as well, and we all exchanged emails.
Instead of going to Mximo Nivel, I decided to go back home to have lunch. I was going to go to Maximo Nivel at 4pm because I had a meeting with Heidi concerning Jose's project. Kelly was still at the house and she had to be at Maximo Nivel for 4pm as well for her Spanish classes. We decided to go do some souvenir shopping before at a market that i always wanted to go to. It was really cheap there and I thought that it would be a perfect place to by my shooter and a Peru jacket that I thought was really nice.
My meeting with Heidi did not last that long. She couldn't do anything right now about the Palace of Pachacuti but she promised that she would keep me posted. I went back home with a bunch of people again to drop off my souvenirs and get ready to go to Hassan's. I went with Kelly and we were meeting Caitlin there.
When we got to Hassan's, there was a lot of people, but a lot of food as well. Everyone that lived in the house contributed a little to the supper. Nilu made and excellent bruschetta, while Danny made one of the best meetballs that I have ever tried. Hassan made a dessert that was really popular in the UK: banoffee. It was delicious!
After supper, we played charades: the guys against the girls. Obviously, the guys won. Around 9:30, I thought it would be best if we left since I was getting up at 4am the next morning to go to Machu Picchu. I also hadn't packed so I was going to be up for a while.
When I got home, I felt pretty sad since it was going to be the last time I was going to see Kelly. She was leaving on Sunday, and I was only going to be back on Monday. We were in the living room with everyone and I was kind of expecting a big goodbye from her. However, this is not what happened. All there was was a short hug. I was a bit dissapointed since Kelly and i had spent a lot of time together, but no, in a blink of an eye, we said goodbye and parted ways.
I finished packing my things and went to bed that night thinking that maybe the time we spent together wasn't that important to her. I also thought that maybe it was going to be like this with everyone when I leave the house. This bothered me the whole night, but I still managed to get some sleep. I had to, tomorrow and the days to come were going to be very exhausting...
