Today, I don't know why, but I woke up at 7:30am, and I wasn't tired! I really wanted to go to my project because it was the day before my last day...sniff, sniff...
Caitin was out cold and I wasn't going to wake her up, I was just planning on going without her and make her fell incredibly guilty when I came back. I got to my project a little late again (at 9:45am), and the kids were already learning about the different regions of Peru as well as the types of dresses from the different regions.
Again, today, I kept on trying to separate Ronal and Ruth Kelly. I was also asked to make special worksheets for the kids. At recess, I was mainly playing with the girls. I tried to take as many pictures as I could. After recess, we were doing a recap of the numbers 1 through 5 and how to write them. I was surprised at how little the kids knew. Either they were really distracted or they really did not know, but they needed a lot of help. One of the girls, Yesenia took the longest to identify the number 3 and write it. She ended up writing three backwards, but by this time, Margoth has given up and had her go back to her seat.
The kids were going to have music class again (like last week). I ended talking with Margoth alone, in the classroom, expressing my attachment to the kids and how sad it will be when I leave. I then decided to leave early since music class was going to be until the end of the period. Melani, one of the kids, wanted to give me a kiss. She was so cute!
It was great that I was leaving early today because I was meeting with Kelly at 1:30pm for lunch. Kelly and I wemt to this cute restaurant that had a nice view of the streets of Cuzco. I had her try ceviche (which she did not like because of the raw onions). We had a little trouble with the bill at the end of our lunch, and I had to speak to the owners. I felt a similar feeling to the way I felt at Mama Africa the other night. However, the owners were kind enough to give me the benefit of the doubt. Kelly and I then went back to Maximo Nivel since she had class at 4pm. I ended up going on the computers until a few other people from our house were ready to go back home. This was one of the benefites of living with a lot of people: you can always find someone to share a taxi with.
After supper, everyone came out because it was probably going to be my last night partying in Cuzco (since I was just going out for supper at Hassan's place tomorrow and then going to bed). All the young people from my house decided to come out (including Maria, which was a first!). Sabine, Daniel and Dillman were also there. I decided I wanted to go to Zazu bar because I had promised Sonia (the promoter for the place) for a while that I was going to go and bring my friends.
When we showed up at the place, it was pretty empty, except for another small group sitting and having drinks. We all had our free drinks and danced a bit. As I looked at all the people that came for my last night, I couldn't help but think how lucky I was to have met such great people and that i would really miss every one of them when I leave.
After our free drinks, we thought that it would be best to head over to Inkateam since we were at Mythology all night last night. We all had free drinks there, too, and now, things were starting to get pretty fun. Paul, Kevin, and Morat were buying more drinks. Morat also decided to get a hand massage by someone at the bar (so random, and too funny!). Everyone was really having a good time, but some started leaving early. As people started leaving, I was getting more free drinks. Kelly and I decided to take shots. I think she wanted to get me drunk. Well, it worked. I was drunk for the first time during my trip.
We danced all night until 3am, a night worth qualifying as my last party night. It is really going to be hard to leave Cuzco...
