Caitlin and I were going to our project this morning. However, before that, we had to stop at Maximo Nivel to pick up the care package that my mother left me (for the kids, not for me). As usual, along the way to the school there were some kids (Andrea and Joseba) that were on there way up as well. We took them by the hand all the way up to the school.
The Spaniards were not here today and were not going to be here anymore. As soon as I entered the class, all of the kids came and hugged me, and wanted to see what was in the bag. Today, I was not sure what the lesson was, because today, the kids had new tables, chairs and shelves, and it was my job to write the names of all the kids on the shelves. After that, I had to go see Gracie and record what I brought today. Gracie had also asked me if I could help one of the older kids with his English homework. After helping him, I really enjoyed it, and thought if there was a way that I could do this more. I might show up one day in the afternoon...
Today past by really fast. In the afternoon, we learned about the number three and as usual we had to write the kids homework in every one of their workbooks. Caitlin and I left quite late today. She was late for her class and I was going to be late for my Tandem at 2:30pm. We got to Maximo Nivel at 2:20pm, and I waited for my Tandem, but he did not show up. This was the second time so I decided to schedule another tandem.
I met up with Hassan at Maximo Nivel and he wasn't looking too good...We had a discussion about the new people living in his house adn how he wasn't really getting along with them. He was in a dilemma about moving. Caitlin later joined us after her class and we decided to go eat somewhere around the plaza. I asked one of the local about a good place to eat and he told us about a place not too far away.
The place was really cute and for 12 Soles, we had a three course meal that was really good. I tried Chicha morada (a Peruvian drink made from purple corn) for the second time in my life (it was just as good as the first time...). After lunch, Caitlin and I went back home. We were going to meet up with Hassan again later tonight because it was karaoke night! All week, Hassan and I tried to get a bring a bunch of people (we promised the waiter last time that we would bring more people as long as we get free drinks...)
After supper, Cailtin, Irish Kevin, Kevin, Tyler, Kelly, Winnie and myself went to go meet up with Hassan and his crew. There I met Sandra, a girl from France, but that has lived most of her life in Spain. We were a really big group. Hassan and I decided to break the ice and serenade Caitlin with a Bryan Adams song. After, the girls sang Lady Marmelade. Tyler decided to sing a Spanish song to this random group of locals, also in the place. I also met with Sabine's friends, Daniel and Dillman (Sabine was feeling really sick because of the bingee jump yesterday).
After karaoke, we all decided to go out. We went to the usual place, Mythology. While going there, I met with one of the promoters, Beto. Because we were a big group and he seemed to think that I was leading the group, he offered me a free drink of my choice inside. I obviously chose a Pisco Sour...On the dance floor, Kelly seemed to enjoy dancing the most. There was also something about her eyes that were so flirtatious...We danced until around 1am and then decided to come back home.
Back home, everyone went to bed except me. Kevin was still awake drinking his beers at night (as usual). I went on the computer to update the blog a little. Suddenly, I hear the doorbell ring and Maritza storm across the room in a furious way. It was her cousin, Marissa, at the door, and she was crying like crazy. I decided it was none of my business so I went back to the computer. Eventually, Marissa came to see me and told me that her boss kicked her out of the house (she does the same thing like Maritza). I consoled her for a bit, and then went to bed. Marissa ended up sleeping the night in her cousin's room and left the next morning. What a weird night...
