Last week wasn't that exciting: I had a day off on Thursday because it was work day (the kiwi students didn't have to go to school but they had to do a job instead) and the International Students didn't have to work. On Friday wrote a Chemistry test - it wasn't too hard, I gained an Excellence(see picture):).
In New Zealand you can get 4 marks: Excellence, Merit, Achieved and Not Achieved. But the marks are not really important - you only have to get an Achieved to get all the credits being available for this test(by the end of the year you have to reach a number of credits to pass the year). But if you want to enter the university you have to have good marks(as Excellence or Merit). And, by the way, it doesn't matter how you behave in class or wether you do your homework or not - you only get the marks by writing the tests. That's why many students just listen to music or draw something. I know the New Zealand Education System is quite complicated and a bit weird - I think the Austrian is much better. What I like better is that it's a lot easier; you only have to do 5 classes in year twelve and just English is compulsory. That means you can do 4 classes you're interested in - I would like to have that in Austria. In addition, I hardly ever get any homework and I never have to study at home - I'm getting really lazy here:)
Hopefully I'll do a trip on Saturday, but the weather forecast is not very good... However, if I do it I'll show you some photos;)

e.m. congratulation for your excellent! Enjoy it that you don't have to do so much work in New Zealand than in Austria! And enjoy it that you don't have a mum around you that goes on your nerfs because she thinks that you don' t work enough for school (in case you have a mum like that ;))
