Yesterday we spent the afternoon wandering around the Luxembourg Gardens which are not far from our apartment. It was another public holiday here, VE Day, so the Gardens were full of Parisians enjoying the day off with their children and spending time beyond their apartments.
The gardens are part of the Luxembourg Palace which now houses the Senate of the government. I am not sure exactly how the government works here and if the senate has the same role as at home but this is where they meet.
We spent a quieter day yesterday which my feet appreciated. We also found the local produce market which made Matthew very happy and he has now taken to cooking in our little apartment.
Dinner last night, however was had at the best little restaurant so far. Le Navigator, a small very French place with the daily specials - there were seven of them for both entree and mains listed off in French with Matthew trying to translate as Madame told us each one. Have included some photos including the empty entree plates (I forgot to take the photos before we ate the food!)
Album includes photos of gardens including children and their fathers playing with the little sailing boats you can hire on the various ponds in the gardens around town.
