RIFF a.k.a. Reykjavik International Film Festival was held on 17-27 of September. I bought the festival pass and it cost around 35€. One movie ticket cost 5€ so I knew I have to go at least to eight movies to make it profitable. I saw many nice fresh movies and documentaries during that festival. There wasn´t any main stream s*** what you can see every day from your TV. Movies were shown in five different cinemas around the Reykjavik. Most of the movies were in Háskólabíó what is our University´s cinema.
During the festival I saw: Daytime Drinking, Men on the Bridge, Unmade Beds, The Girl, Swimsuit Issue, Eyes Wide Open, Patrik 1,5, The Slovenian Girl, Ticket to Paradise, Bi the Way, The Dancing Forest, North, I Killed my Mother andRoskilde. I also saw one old classic movie from the seventieth; One Flew Over the Cuckoo´s Nest (Jack Nicholson) and Aki Kaurismäki´s movie called Kolme viisasta miestä (Three Wise Men).
So totally I saw 16 movies and some of them were really good and of course some of them weren´t so good. There were still some movies I really wanted to see but it was impossible. Sometimes you really had to have good plan what movie to see when and when you have time to eat etc. It seems that there are always some festivals or happening going on and you really can´t get bored here in Reykjavik. I love it!!!
