Day 101: 11/4/13
This morning at the office they sorted out the form that we had been emailed yesterday so I hadn't needed to get it printed after all! They also gave us our payslips from the last week of energy Australia. For some reason I was taken off base wage. I only realised when we were on our way out to turf. Chloe said she hadn't told them to put me off it so she didn't know by it happened. For that week I earned 80 more than I would have on base anyway so that week is fine. But if you go off base wage you can't go back and I don't know if this week is going to be good. I need to make five more sales this week to earn more than I would on base and that's providing no one cancels! Some people think you have to be on commission now with this new company as none of us are classe as newbies. But why they don't tell us these things I don't know!! Ill see if I can find out more tomorrow morning.
On turf I didn't get many bills. A few that I did get were older people an it wasn't going to save them any money so I couldn't do it to them! Others just weren't interested. Chloe decided o put Doug with me for a few hours to help me out. I wasn't looking forward to it because he's kind of crazy! It wasn't too bad though. He was kind of quiet today, not his usual crazy self so that suited me! I don't think he sold anything I the morning so I don't know if he was even working! He pitched a few doors and after a while we did every second door. He seemed to be happy enough with what I was doing but I kept getting people with no English or no understanding so we couldn't do a sale anyway!!
He got one first with a woman who had moved into the house and hadnt gotten a bill yet. I got one then were I pitche and Doug answered all the objections and questions the customer had. When he wanted to sign Doug let me have it. At the very end of the day then, Doug got one more. I don't think that man had any clue of what was happening!! It was just before half six and the meter number didn't come up on the iPad so I had to run to the front of the units to get the meter number so he could ring the verification before it closed at 6:30! He just got the sale!! I do have to assume the sale more like Doug does and start telling them what you're going to do straight away and if they pull out its fine. But he lied to them about rates a few times which I won't be doing!! Even though, most of the people he lied to, he didn't sell anyway! We only got 3 between us in the space of 3 hours which isn't great by his standards, so I don't know what's wrong! Malou in our van got 3 today and 3 yesterday so it's going well for her. Amber got 1, Andrew got 0. I'd be on 0 too only for Chloe put Doug with me for a while.
Andrew is funny because he spent the bus journey in the morning looking for jobs on gumtree and has some interviews lined up! He hasn't been selling much either and no more than myself needs money so he can stay longer. Out of the people on the bus, Malou is grand but she isn't a very chatty person and we haven't much in common. Amber is from New Zealand and is just not all there! Andrews Scottish and were generally on the same wavelength. He's easy to chat to- it's funny because he's loads of tattoos and has those earrings that put the holes in your ears, which I hate, but he's still sound!
We got dropped back at the office anyway so we could hand in our iPads and stuff. I got a train back then and had something to eat and read a book. Bed early for me because I'm wrecked!
